Sophia Bromfield
President

Sophia is a graduate of both Florida A&M University and The Georgia Institute of Technology. After completing a Bachelor's in Architectural Studies at Florida A&M University, she continued her education at Georgia Tech, earning a Master of Architecture with a concentration in Sustainability in December of 2010. While at Georgia Tech, Sophia received the GT OMED Tower Award as well as the Stanley Love-Stanley Award for Excellence in Architecture. She is also involved community service, currently serving as a mentor in the S3 Mentoring Program at Spelman College. Her professional experience includes positions as an Intern Architect and Revit Specialist at firms of various sizes concentrating on higher education and commercial projects. Sophia is a LEED AP and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Sophia was initiated into the Seshait Chapter of Alpha Rho Chi in the Fall of 2006 as the number two on the Rho line. She has served the fraternity in several capacities, most recently as the Atlanta District Coordinator for the Seshait Alumni Association.

     
 

David Castro
Vice President

David graduated from Florida A&M University in 2006 with a B.S. in Architectural Studies, and continued his education at the University of Miami earning a Master of Architecture in 2010. He was initiated into the Seshait Chapter in the Spring of 2006 as the number three on the Pi line.

David's career has given him experience on more than 1,000,000 square feet of built space. He has been fortunate enough to conceptualize a 152 acre master plan; spearhead green initiatives and work on design/build projects. His skills have been recognized by his peers and he has placed as an emerging designer in architectural competitions.

Mr. Castro is a LEED AP and also a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, the American Institute of Architects and an avid participant in many community outreach programs.

     
 

Alicia Crumbley
Treasurer

Alicia was initiated into the Seshait Chapter of Alpha Rho Chi on November 12, 2005. While pursuing her undergraduate studies, Alicia served in several leadership positions including Dean of Pledges, WAA, and WA. In April of 2008 Alicia graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from Florida A & M University. Currently she works on various freelance professional projects in Fashion and Graphic Design. In an effort to pursue her professional development in Architecture, Alicia is currently pursuing LEED Certification.

     
 

Joel Mieses
Secretary

Joel Mieses was intiated into the Seshait Chapter in the spring of 2007. During his time as an active, Bro. Mieses served two terms as Worthy Scribe, and in his last year as an active, he served as Professional Development co-chair and Worthy Superintendant. He is a member of several professional organizations including the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU). Bro. Mieses received his Masters of Landscape Architecture (MLA) in the spring of 2010 and his Bachelors of Architecture (B.Arch) in the spring of 2011.

 

Rafeeq Asad
Corresponding Secretary

Rafeeq graduated from Florida A&M University in 2002 with a B.S. in Business Administration, and continued his education at his alma mater receiving his Master of Architecture in 2009. He was initiated into the Seshait Chapter in the fall of 2005 as the tail (number eleven) on the Omicron line, and has served numerous executive board positions for the chapter, including Worthy Superintendent Worthy Architect.

In addition to serving on the Seshait Alumni Association Executive Board, Rafeeq is currently a National Appointee of Alpha Rho Chi, serving as the Regional Director for Region 8. Outside of service to APX, He is involved in numerous civic and community organizations. He is currently pursuing licensure and various other professional benchmarks.
