Convention Events
APX Market Place, Thursday March 25th, 3pm
The APX Market place will be held on Thursday during check-in. Anyone
that would like to sell Alpha Rho Chi items is encouraged to set
up on tables that will be set up next to the check-in tables. There
will also be another opportunity to sell items, but it will be “APX
Market Place Lite.”
Robert’s Rules of Order Boot Camp – Thursday March 25th, 4pm
All delegates are required to attend the Roberts Rules of Order Boot
Camp on Thursday. Anyone interested in being a convention officer
is strongly advised to attend as well. In this session you will learn
how to use the Rules to better participate in the business session
and possibly take these skills back to your chapter meetings and
alumni association meetings.
Welcome Reception – Thursday March 25th, 6pm - 10pm
The Welcome Reception will be held at Richbrau Brewery a few blocks
from the hotel. Our reception will be held in the second floor private
reception space. We will have finger food, cash bar and use of the
pool tables and arcade games. Please be sure to arrive in Richmond
in time to join everyone at the Welcome Reception.
Workshops and Forums – Friday & Saturday
Surviving the Recession
led by Brother Turisa Tuttle
This round table discussion with focus on how people have been affected
by the recession and how they overcame any professional hardships.
Taking Ownership in the Team Dynamic
led by Brother Randy Kirschner
This hour long session will be an expansion of the workshop that
Randy led at Leadership Conference.
Business Sessions – Thursday, Friday & Saturday
The business sessions will be held on Friday and Saturday. These
sessions help shape the future of Alpha Rho Chi and everyone
is welcome. There are also three scheduled workshops, Roberts
Rules of Order on Thursday, Randy Kirsher on Friday and Turisa
Tuttle on Saturday. There may also be unplanned breakout sessions.
All delegates must arrive in time to attend the Roberts Rules
of Order Boot Camp.
Tour of the State Capitol, Friday, March 26th, 11am-12pm
There will be a guided tour of the State Capitol give by Jim Wooton,
the secretary for the Capitol Square Preservation Council. Mr. Wooton
is an architectural historian. The newly renovated Capitol building
and grounds are shining examples of Jeffersonian architecture. The
cost of the tour is $5 and has a limit of 50 people.
Annual Awards Banquet – Saturday March 27th, 8pm - 11pm
The Annual Awards banquet will be held in the James River Ballroom
on Saturday night. There will be a reception with hors d’oeuvres
and a cash bar. All National Awards will be awarded at the banquet.
